Priyanka Chopra to play Indira Gandhi

Priyanka Chopra is most likely to play role of late primary minister Indira Gandhi. Indian origin US filmmaker Krishna Shah is planning to make the film on the leader and is considering actress Priyanka Chopra to play the role after Madhuri Dixit refused to act in the film.
The film is titled “Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story”, a big-budget two-part movie on the life of the Indian leader who was known as Iron Lady. Shah is working on the casting with Academy Award winning make-up artiste Jenny Shircore.

Shircore went through the photographs of many Indian actresses, and now believes that believes that Priyanka’s face matches that of the late prime minister. Shah said in a statement, “Yes, I am in conversation with Jenny who thinks that Priyanka is the one who can fit in the character of Indira, but it will be too premature to talk about casting as we have not approached anybody as yet,”. Madhuri could not do the movie because her mother-in-law is ill.

Salman Khan- Sonakshi romance in the air

Salman Khan has finally has shed his relationship with Katrina Kaif. But he seems to have found new love in Sonakshi who is his co-star in Dabangg. The beautiful actress is in awe of the actor after he helped her in paintings during the shooting.

She has said, ‘’ Salman is a wonderful person. I am inspired by him in a lot of ways. Right from my fitness regime to my painting fascination its all because of Salman…’’ She also said that she shares a relationship with the khans of the industry as she is close to Alvira, Arbaaz and Sohali’s kids.
Sonakshi is not at all discomforted by the media queries about her and Salman and in fact she is very frank in accepting that she is very intimate with the actor. She said that now she feels like Sonakshi Khan. Will this relationship turn into something else?

Its official now: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif break up

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have been together for a long time but in the past few months, the issue of growing distance between the two has been cropping up now and again. The two started dating in 2004, shortly after Katrina moved to India to pursue her Bollywood career. Salman helped her a lot, and used all his contacts to help her ascend the ladder of stardom.

The rumors of Salman breaking up with Kaif gained solidarity when Salman told in an interview to TV channel Headlines Today, “I have broken up with Katrina. We were friends then for everybody, we are friends now.”

He even went on to explain the reason behind the breakup, “Koi cheez tootati hain toh isliye kyonki ya to different ways chali gayi hai, ya ek shakhs ki growth nahin hui, ya ek ne kuch aur path chun liya hai, ya sensibility samajh mein nahi aati, ya thinking galat ho gayi hain (A relationship breaks if it gets stretched in different directions, or one person does not grow, or the other person takes a different path, or there is some misunderstandingor they have grown out of love.)”

“So there are different interferences, the parents perhaps… or the interference of anything,” he said, adding, “it’s just two people not getting along, something that obviously doesn’t end peacefully. But if you can manage to stay friends, there is nothing like it.”

This adds to another sad end of a long affair in Bollywood!!

A sneek-peak into ‘Patiala House’

Nikhil Advani’s ‘Patiala House’ featuring Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles is going to cast 32 sardars in one frame. Besides Akshay and Anushka, the movie stars Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Vindu Dara Singh, and Dara Singh. The music for the film has been given by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and it is slated to hit the theatres in November this year.

The story of the film revolves around Parghat Singh Kahlon (Gattu,) age 34 years who lives a routine life subduing all his dreams and watching his father rule a house, a family, a community in London like he has for the last 25 years. Guttu silently suffers as he gives up his dream to save his father’s reputation until he meets a girl who gives him the strength to stand up for what he believes only to shake the very foundations of Patiala House.

Scenes from Kalki’s ‘That Girl In yellow boots’ leaked online

Kalki Koechlin grabbed attention with her performance in ‘Dev D’ and has not had many assignments since then. However, the stunner will be seen along with Naseeruddin Shah in Anurag Basu’s project ‘That Girl In Yellow Boots’. However, even before the flick hits the screens, its content and some explicit sex scenes are doing rounds on the net.

The film is a joint project from Kalki and Anurag. While Kalki has co-scripted the project, Anurag has directed the film. The storyline is a thriller tracing Kalki’s search for her father, a man she hardly knew but cannot forget. Desperation drives her to work without a permit, at a massage parlour. Slowly she is sucked into the city’s underbelly as her misery grows and she finds it even more difficult to attain her objective.

‘That Girl In Yellow Boots’ was screened at the Venice Film Festival for the Out-of-Competition section. The festival will take place from 1st to 11th September 2010 at Venice Lido. Post the screening, three scenes that span five minutes of the film have been leaked online and these scenes have explicit, bold dialogues and some steamy stuff too. sexual scenes as well. It’s possible that the scenes leaked out post the screening of the film at the festivals.”

The film will also have its North American Premiere at the forthcoming Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

‘Peepli Live’ begins its journey of fame and recognition

An Aamir Khan’s film naturally raises expectations and awe from the audience before it hits the screens. And his forthcoming ‘Peepli Live’ has already started its journey of fame and recognition with bagging in the Best First Feature Film award at the 31st Durban International Film Festival in South Africa.

“Peepli Live has been awarded the Best First Feature Film at the Durban International Film Festival. Everyone is ecstatic about the win. The honour means a great deal, especially considering that Anusha Rizvi is a first time director,” said an official statement from Aamir Khan Productions adding, “Peepli Live is an ambitious and well-realised film that deals with serious political issues in a witty and entertaining manner. It creates an enchanting world of colourful characters, images and music that engrosses viewers throughout.”

Directed by debutante Anusha Rizvi and distributed by UTV Motion Pictures, the movie is slated to hit the screens August 13. The film also stars Omkar Das Manikpuri, Raghubir Yadav, Naseeruddin Shah, Malaika Shenoy, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shalini Vatsa, Farrukh Jaffer, Vishal O. Sharma, Aamir Bashir, Sitaram Panchal and Yugal Kishore.

The movie is about two impoverished farmers – Natha (Omkar Das Manikpuri) and Budhia (Raghubir Yadav) – who live in a village called Peepli. They are about to lose their land due to debts when an incompetent politician suggests they commit suicide to get government help. The news spreads and the media turns Natha into a celebrity.

Mallika Sherawat cheers for India at the India Day Parade in New Jersey

A sweating Mallika Sherawat, dressed in off-white salwar kameez for a change, had a trying time as she had to waive her hand constantly under scorching heat and shouted ‘hail to India’ as she made her attendance on India Day Parade in New Jersey that marked India’s 64th Independence Day. This is an annual event held by the Indian Business Association in association with scores of other Indian American Organizations to celebrate India’s Independence.

With thousands of people to the one mile parade route, more than 25 floats including ones by Air-India, Western Union, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and Friends of Gujarat, three marching bands, and hundreds of marchers, parade organizers and police agreed that it was biggest in its history. The crowd figures was estimated variously by the Chandrakant Patel, president of the Indian Business Association that organized the parade as somewhere near 40,000 and other veteran parade watchers, as somewhere around 20,000. But the crowd did not just consist of Indian Americans although they were indeed were the overwhelming majority.

Well, given the heat was scorching and the crowd overwhelming and Mallika used to being revealed in a dress rather than being covered, we hope it was not too uncomfortable for the ‘Hisss’ star!!

Movie Preview: Anjaana Anjaani

Though Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor will be seen together first time on-screen in ‘Anjaana Anjaani’, their chemistry is already getting rave reviews. Releasing on September 24, the movie is about two strangers Akash (Ranbir Kapoor) and Kiara (Priyanka Chopra) who meet in very ordinary circumstances, fall in love and then realize that they have to part as strangers. The flick witnesses their hilarious, contemporary yet poignant journey of stumbling into all that is worth living for. Made under the banner of Nadiawala Grandson Entertainment, the movie is directed by Siddhartha Anand.

Melissa Rycroft Will Soon Become a Mummy and “Bachelor Pad” Co-Host

It has become known that Melissa Rycroft, reality star, can be expecting her first kid.
Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush was told by one of co-hosts of “The Bachelor Pad” earlier this week that Melissa had total food aversion.

The brunette confesses that she still has a lot of time to think about pregnancy-related food preferences.
She said that they were due at the very end of February.

After Billy asked her whether the kid could be born on the romantic holiday, Melissa Rycroft replied that, of course, it could happen to be a Saint Valentine’s baby. However, it was not up to her to decide the timing.
Melissa said that she together with Tye hadn’t still chosen a name for their child yet. She laughed that she hadn’t thought about their kid’s future name at all.

Melissa is definitely more preoccupied with the forthcoming season of “Bachelor Pad,” the spin-off show of “Bachelor/Bachelorette.” The show’s premiere will be on ABC on Monday at 9 PM. If you are not aware, Rycroft’s co-host will be Chris Harrison.

She laughed that it felt far much better standing next to Harrison that standing across from him. In this phrase the star referred to Season 13 of “The Bachelor,” on which she participated.

Ranbir Kapoor shot continuously for seven hours at a scratch

Bollywood chocolate boy Ranbir Kapoor who is known for his jolly nature is really professional when it comes to work. Ranbir-Priyanka starrer Anjaana Anjaani that is almost done still needed the finishing touch where the producer Sajid Nadiadwala wanted it to wrap up soon.

Ranbir starved himself for a complete day to finish the shoot on time. The source reveals, “Ranbir shot continuously from 10 am to 5 pm without asking for lunch also to take a little break. Ranbir was very supportive and was full of life as he kept everyone on the sets entertained to make the tiring shoot more fun and lively.”

A source close to the unit said, “Right from the first day, Ranbir got into the skin of his character. He had to shoot a promo in which he was to fight with Priyanka over a soft drink and he got Priyanka drenched in the process of making the fight look real. Next there was a scene in which both had to run and Ranbir was so into the shot that he did not realise his co-star fell down and was bleeding for some time.”
