August 7, 2010 Leave a comment

The Premacy minivan four-wheel drive version has officially been introduced by Mazda. This new model has been titled Premacy here and Mazda5 in Japan. This car appeared for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010 and will be available across the U.S. only in 2011 – during its second half.

Despite the fact that customers in North America will have to wait for the new Premacy more than a year, this stylish vehicle can already be purchased in Japan.

What concerns the car’s drive system it is in default four-wheel automatic mode. However, the drivers have a chance to choose between an all-wheel full-time drive program and an only front-wheel drive mode.
The 4WD Premacy is equipped with the following engine: MZR 2.0-liter DOHC. It is likely that this engine will be found in the Mazda5 that will be sold in the U.S. Moreover, the vehicle has a four-speed automatic transmission. Knowing that U.S. buyers prefer all-wheel drive cars, we anticipate that the Mazda5’s AWD version will definitely appear.

And now it is time to speak about the 4WD Premacy price. To tell the truth, it is quite reasonable and is over $23,000.

JX Name Given to Infiniti New Line

August 7, 2010 Leave a comment

It is generally known that car automakers usually do their best in order to keep their future cars dark. When their new models are perfect only then they are ready to unveil them. However, it is a common situation when some information simply leaks. The car producing companies make their private plans public revealing them to government officials, or by accident or through regulation. Here are too good examples: copyright offices are one example, loose lips of Vice President Joe Biden are another.

In this case, it has been revealed that the name JX will be given to a new forthcoming line from Infiniti. As Car and Driver informs, Nissan has decided to trademark the names JX30, JX25, JX25h, and JX20 at the federal patent and trademark offices of the USA and Canada. And we can only speculate what these model names mean.

It has also become known that a 3.0-liter V6 (potentially a diesel) and a hybrid, a 2.5-liter V6, and a 2.0-liter four will be available, implying that the JX would be quite a small model. There are some speculations among the sources that the Nissan Juke’s premium variant will be possible.

This deal finalizes the strategy of Ford CEO Alan Mulally aimed at focusing on the primary Ford brand. The U.S. carmaker started to implement its strategy in 2007 when it sold Aston Martin to India’s corporation Tata Motors Ltd. In 2008 the same company acquired Ford’s Jaguar and Land Rover.

Mulally says in a statement that Volvo has a strong product line and, according to him, it is a really excellent brand. After this automaker was successfully restructured, it started to bring profits again. Mulally adds that they have absolutely no doubts that a solid future is waiting for Volvo under Geely’s ownership.
